I saw a friend I hadn’t seen for almost 10 years yesterday, paddling out at a local break; he was lying on his board in the line-up. Made me realise how much I’ve changed from 18 to 28, and how short 10 years really is. Puts time into a diffirent perspective. At 25 I thought things were getting away from me; three years later I’m fairly content with the last ten.

Today is definitely the first day of autumn/winter in my part of the world. Late summer heat and good weather has been delaying the cold and rain that usually starts in February. Winter’s been hinting it’s arrival for weeks, always followed by days of extreme heat and unbearably hot nights. Many have mentioned sensing winter coming; I haven’t. Today, though, is cold and wet....
